Firstly a huge thank you to Degrees Above Zero for all their hard work in designing and setting up this website and blog. I hope you, the reader, will enjoy visiting as much as I will enjoy seeing it develop.
My principal reason for blogging is to help you, the reader, deal with the common myths and misinformation about health and nutrition put about by the media and medical establishment.
Every day we are bombarded with information about nutrition and exercise. Often the advice we read one day is contradicted the next. This is extremely frustrating for most people and leaves them confused and lacking the clarity they need to develop direction and build momentum towards optimal health and wellbeing.
I have seen clients who have tried every diet out there, sometimes ending up in hospital as a result. We live in a culture that demands immediate results, and with minimum effort. We are driven by aesthetics rather than wellbeing, and we are constantly told that someone or something has the easy answer to all our worries and problems.
It’s time we took a step back and used some common sense. When it comes to health matters, even the most intelligent often seem to lose sight of this. It might have taken a number of years to get us into our current state of health. It’s therefore quite possibly going to take at least several months to improve our situation. We need to appreciate that it’s by taking many small steps in the right direction that we can achieve real and sustainable improvements in our health and wellbeing.
I have always been fascinated by human function. I hope through this blog I can pass some of that passion on to you, but also give you a source of information you can enjoy reading and you can trust. I hope it will give you the clarity, direction and support that you might need in seeking to meet the aspirations of both yourself and those you care for in terms of health and wellbeing.
